If it were me I would have asked for another HR investigator. If they refused, I would have filed an EEOC complaint and a complaint with your state's Dept of Labor. If you were also essentially disabled because of the CTS, I would have found another lawyer who specialized in employment discrimination against the disabled. You had more rights than you realize.
Where was your supervisor in all this?
Cowering like a worm. To my face, he'd say he was on my side, but he did nothing to help me, in fact, he's the one who referred it to HR (which he was compelled to do policy).
It was pretty difficult to continue to work for him after that, but I had to eat and pay the bills. But he lost any sense of friendship and any respect that I had for him, and he'll never get it back. No matter, he's no longer my boss.
I've known genuine sexual harassers, I used to work for one at my previous company. He was also something of a sociopath. This was back before "sexual harassment" became a buzz word, but I was recently out of the service and I recognized abuse of power when I saw it. I had nothing for contempt for that man, and he eventually moved on to "other business interests".
Fortunately, I will end my career working for a gentleman who understands the meaning of loyalty and principle, even if the company itself has lost those qualities in the dustbin of history.
Oh well, I've got 422 more days before my lifetime of indentured servitude is over (but who's counting?). Don't worry, I'll go out standing tall with my head held up straight.
