Since I agree w Miss Marple on this one I will respond.

It is my belief and observation that an unrestrained, often treasonous, media establishment, in league with our enemies foreign and domestic, were able, over time. to convince a narrow majority of our citizens to vote in favor of the party endorsed by those sworn to kill us all.

The liars were relentlessly effective. How else to explain dismissing the best economy in the history of earth, accomplished post 9/11 and in spite of fierce opposition from those who would rather see failure than success in order for their own narrow ambitions to be realized.

This President has persisted in his gracious, optimistic and courageous manner while hamstrung by do-nothing rino's, hate-America dims and, finally, all-or-nothing conservatives whose unwillingness to understand and implement the left's tactics of incrementalism have delivered us all into the hands of those who truly believe America has "too much power".

I am amazed he has accomplished so much, given the burdens he has carried.

Time will tell I guess.

Yes, I agree. Something is drastically wrong with the view some have of the President. Perhaps the following quote explains it:

Cicero said: "A nation can survive its fools and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and he carries his banners openly against the city. But the traitor moves among those within the gates freely, his sly whispers rustling through all alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears no traitor; he speaks in the accents familiar to his victim, and he wears their face and their garments and he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation; he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of a city; he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to be feared. The traitor is the plague."

Thank you both for your comments. I am glad to know I am not alone.

My grandson (now 10) KNOWS I am a Bush Republican. So is he. He got his letter printed in the school newspaper supporting Bush over Kerry. HA!

I want to make sure they understand. They may not agree with me, but I want them to know the facts, and how the media distored things and the democrats obstructed everything.

Bush has had some accomplishemnts. I support his tax cuts, judicial choices and foreign policy agenda since 9-11. As I indicated in my post, my concern is over Bush`s domestic policy agenda. Its not driven by conservative policy, but rather by a centrist agenda based on the status quo. I happen to support his overall strategy in the WOT. Although I'm not convinced the current tactics in Iraq will be successful long term. Bush was handed a sound economy and so far, he hasn't done anything to screw it up. So he gets some credit for that.

That isn't the issue. Saying that a sitting POTUS, will one day be considered a great POTUS, is overstepping the bounds of legitimacy, into pure fallacy. Makes Dubya sound like a cult figure. The only who might have warranted such an historic label before leaving office, would have been George Washington. IMHO, of course.

The MSM put Katrina on this President, with the help of some of his friends on the right. They blamed him for high gas prices, low gas prices, lack of flu vaccine......there was no end to the lies from the MSM in their quest to destroy this man's presidency.

They had plenty of help from the right so there is much blame to go around.

Democrats who champion a woman's right to kill her baby in the womb went hyperbolic over putting panties on the heads of terrorists.

You can criticize this President all you want, go right ahead.

I will vehemently disagree on all fronts.

You are absolutely right about the reason things went bad for Republicans this last election. There was a constant, incessant barrage of misinformation by the liberal media. We must find a way to combat this. Even so-called conservatives parroted the MSM.

People can criticize President Bush all they want. There are some things about which I do not entirely agree with him. But I do believe he is courageous and principled. I continue to support him.

This last election made me mad. I am determined more than ever to advance conservative principles. Having the dems in charge of congress given our current war is dangerous; having them take over the White House is unthinkable. We are in a war for our way of life. We are in a war for life itself. President Bush understands this, I think. The liberals and terrorists understand this, too, and that is why they fiercely oppose him.

I will do what I can to defeat the liberals so men like President Bush can defeat the terrorists.

You're right.
Never has a sitting President been so continuously vilified by both national and international media, it was far worse than anything RR had to endure, it was a never ending drumbeat of distortions, lies and fabrications repeated ad nauseam regardless of the help it often gave(gives) our enemies' propaganda war.
In fact in W's case it started even before the 2000 election.

The media was able to do this because this administration refused to rebuke their lies!
