I'm guessing AAM didn't want to have to write up individual flight plans for each bee. That's a lot of paperwork.

No-longer-active general aviation pilot myself. I'm trying to imagine landing a Cessna 150 (my favorite plane, BTW) with four boxes of bees loose in the cockpit. Snakes on a plane? You ain't seen nuttin' yet!

It would be me. Yep. I'd be the guy it'd happen to...

LOL! That IS a lot of paperwork!

And reading the little N numbers on their bellies is very difficult, they won't hold still . . .
