The court had no choice but to disagree.
While I do not agree with the spirit of this law, at least the courts chose not to take an activist stand and ignore Congress' will.

the court disagreed, Perhaps not. From the article, I can't tell if the Court denied cert, or ruled against the man. Big difference, although not for him as an individual.
