Congress will approve an immigration bill that will grant citizenship rights to most of the 12 million to 20 million illegal aliens in the U.S. after Democrats take control next month, predict both sides on Capitol Hill. While Republicans have been largely splintered on the issue of immigration reform, Democrats have been fairly unified behind the principle that the illegals currently in the country should get citizenship rights without having to first leave the country.

Yup, cut the budget. Cut freebies. Cut Welfare. Feds should secure borders between legal crossings.

Rather here comes the beginning of a civil war. Not only does the government allow foreigners to illegally take away needed jobs from US citizens but reward them by making them legal. I don't think the this government has a clue to what is going on at the blue collar level in this country. This influx of Mexicans is overloading the housing, fishing, medical, insurance, traffic etc. on top of screwing up wages for legal citizens. If this economy slows we are going to see some really pissed off Americans. Pelosi, Reid and Bush have taken your concerns into consideration as part of their political calculations regarding any amnesty and third-world migration increase.
They have calculated that you don't count.

They ahouldn't have the votes in the House given the large number of Dems elected on a tough immigration policy. But, then again, they (disingenuous Democrats) have never been loathe to "changing their minds", a la Dick Gebhardt.

>>>> .... we're going to have massive tax increases any way." >>>>We have to pay for a bloated Republican budget some way....OUCH!
On the domestic front, Bush`s liberal spending habits have helped to advance the big bureaucratic welfare state, and further burden the American taxpayers for generations to come. FDR gave us SocSec, LBJ gave us Medicare and GWB gave us a trillion dollar prescription drug program. Not to mention doubling the budget of the Education Dept. That is liberalism and social engineering at its best. Conservatism it is NOT.

That bought him exactly 0 votes from the oldster beneficiaries.

How's this for an
idea?
The fact that you spoke up against the GOP (A.K.A. the same party that HADN'T attempted to pass this law in the years it held power), made you the Democrats "useful idiot" and helped to turn undecided or marginal voters against the Party that you yourself voted for!
If undecided or swing voters, perceive that the party's own self-described "base" thinks that the party sucks, why would they vote for it!
The idea (linked above) is to NOT ALLOW the Democrats to take power BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY!!!!
Your actions, and your self-righteous behavior helped propel this loss.
Hint...the more that we were attcked by Democrats, the more you should have defended the GOP.
You did not, and now...

It also only takes one person to veto it...maybe someone can slip in something about abortion or embryonic stem cells so he'd actually do it. I think the non constitutional way the senate practice's is that any senator can put a hold on something, they do it all the time.

Twenty million illegal aliens are on the brink of getting citizenship from a Democrat-controlled Senate...this was not the case last year, or any year prior to this year.
That action by the Democrats will have the same effect that signing the Civil Rights Act of 1964 had on elections; the Democrats have secured yet another large minority group.
It appears that the wound on your back is self-inflicted.

You are exactly right. No matter what kind of spin the elites and politicians place on this amnesty, which will just invite a surge in illegal immigration, the question will come down to whom do you believe, the politicians or your lying eyes?
These kinds of numbers will have an enormous effect on this country. Chain migratioin will raise these numbers up exponentially. As illegal immigration metastasizes around the country, the impact will be felt everywhere. The Reps would do well to distance themselves from this legislation, which will come back to bite its supporters big time.
Immigration by the numbers Legal immigration is already out of control with over 1 million coming in annually. Add to that another 500,000 to 1 million illegals and you have a recipie for disaster.

That action by the Democrats will have the same effect that signing the Civil Rights Act of 1964 had on elections; the Democrats have secured yet another large minority group. They already had them. This goes beyond partisan politics and political advantage. It could destroy the very fabric of the nation. We just can't assimilate such numbers.
