I didn't know anything about the organization she belongs to. I was defending her right to protest. I still do.
To: leadpenny; Mo1
No, you were supporting her:
Bless you, Celeste Zappala. Your son fought and died for your right to protest a failed Secretary of Defense receiving an award. You are in my prayers.
You might as well have been cheering on Jane Fonda. In fact, you did with your vote for Jim Webb.
To: kristinn
Yes, I was supporting her. I've told you I didn't know about her organization. I still support her right to protesst. And, if he's not a failed SecDef, he'd still be there.
To: leadpenny; All
So you support a failed SeDef nice...

So this ill mannered uncouth sociopath is a hero to the likes of Eleanor Swift and other Bush hatersNot to mention a number of Freepers who thought his insolence toward the president was just fine, because after all, "he has a son in combat"...sort of like Cindy Sheehan has absolute moral authority.
To: leadpenny
Thanks for post #38 which describes some of Webb's combat service. You seem to be attracting an abundance of ignorant, emotional and small minded responses - which does not speak well for FR.
I agree we should be seeking another approach in Iraq - and apparently departing Secretary Rumsfeld feels the same way.

Yep, the voters of Virginia voted out a truly good man. What in the world were they thinking? They were thinking, "Hey, let's vote out a truly good man."

He was there for just short of six years. Rumsfeld led the Pentagon in liberating two nations, kept American casualties extremely low and helped prevent further terror attacks on U.S. soil. The governments we helped the free peoples of Afghanistan and Iraq elect are still standing despite the best efforts of our collective enemies overseas and here in the States. He has his flaws, like any man, but to call him failed is absurd.
I don't buy it that you don't know what kind of person would go out and protest Rumsfeld. You've been around FR too long to not know better. You used to join us in protesting them. Now, you vote for them.
To: maica
im Webb gets an invitation to meet President Bush and takes umbrage at the idea that the C-in-C would ask him about his son Good point. Bush can't win no matter what he does.

Problem is that only 10% served and have the "moral authority" to criticize those who did serve and are flaming socialists. The rest of us were fighting the communists right here at home.
Notice how the MSM only finds military vets who agree with them as having moral authority. Senator Dole or our President who served in the ANG never get that type of hands off treatment.
Ann Coulter nailed this in her book, how they give people who agree with them Sainthood and the rest are Wearing Hoods.
Pray for W and Our Troops

We all know that it's the anti-American left that goes out and protests Rumsfeld, Cheney, Rice and President Bush about the Global War on Terror. We all know the anti-American left has allied itself with our enemies overseas, including terrorists.
We all know that, except for you, apparently.
To: kristinn
Enough of the assumptions and cheap shots.
I saw a thread where a mother of a fallen son who was exercising her constitutional right to protest. You've made an accusation. Have the courage to withdraw it or answer the question.
To: Darnright
There are now somewhere around 51,000 muslims voting in the Old Dominion. The Dems hammered home the fact that Allen's mother was Jewish. Although Allen had, the election before, gotten a good portion of the muslim vote, this year they voted as a block for Webb. I wondered why Allen's Jewish heritage was made an issue. Now I understand. The Dems are playing an increasingly dirty game.

You're the one who voted to turn over the Senate to Ted Kennedy, John Kerry (who served in Cambodia), Hillary Clinton and James Webb. You're the one blindly supporting a leader of the anti-American left. I have nothing to apologize to you for.
To: hinckley buzzard
Strange how being a veteran or being related to a veteran, only impresses the MSM when the veteran or the relative of a veteran is a slimy anti-America liberal democrat.
The war records of the highly decorated WWII hero and crash at sea survivor, George Herbert Walker Bush, and highly decorated and severely wounded WWII hero, Bob Dole, were treated as irrelevant by the MSM during these gentlemen's race for the Presidency against the draft dodging and America bashing Bill Clinton.

To: kristinn
What has gotten in to you? (that's rhetorical)
You couldn't have made a more feeble attempt at changing the subject - - all of which is BS. I expected more.
See ya.
To: rabscuttle385
There are now two Virginias...NOV and ROV...Northern Virginia (government trough dwellers and hangers on) and the Rest of Virginia. Here in Chesterfield County we went for Allen although a fair number of the consequence-challenged went for Webb.
