What Will Pelosi Really Do In the First 100 Hours?: Well, first of all, it’s not really 100 hours.

That plan sure worked for them. Since we know it works, I say do the same to them. Go for it. The voters have already shown how they'll buy it and they sure aren't going to have much patience with whoever is in charge so let's pile it on.

If the shoe were on the other foot, and Republicans had spoken in terms of "100 hours", the Democrats would have waited just over 4 days, then declared the top Republican to be both a LIAR and a FAILURE because miracles had not transpired.

But in this case, we will spend 2 years working in a spirit of bipartisan cooperation trying to make Pelosi look good, with solid achievements she can use to beat us over the head with in 2008.

allow stem cell research

She means FEDERALLY PAY FOR EMBRYONIC stem cell research. It would be so interesting if arguments between left and right could be made based on facts, not on half truths. No one disallows research on stem cells right now.

We have two years to educate the public on the progress being made by adult stem cells. When embryonic still hasn't done anything by 2008, perhaps it will not be such an explosive election issue.

"** Giving Americans a raise — increase the minimum wage"

Wow, everyone in America only makes minimum wage ? If the Republicans are the stupid party, the Democrats are the chronically mentally retarded party.

I read a post on the USS Makin Island being moved out of SF here yesterday. Not sure what the source was.

The House can't act alone and Ms Pelosi's agenda is not likely to get through the Senate without extensive debate.

Why $7.50/hr? Lets do it better. Let's raise it to $10, or $12, or $100!

Perhaps...but I would think that NRO would have asked her if she really meant 100 days...maybe not.

I've been hearing since high school (twenty five years ago) how politicians are going to "clean up Washington". I wish they would just stop. I quit falling for it a long time ago, and to hear it from a liberal is truly absurd.

Same here....I used to not believe in term limits, but if the president is term-limited, I see no reason why members of congress shouldn't be either.

The present set up is clearly a failure.

Yep, and that was a given well prior to the debacle; it was just a "see come " card that was played in the estate tax hand. Now, it's an off suite Ace lead with two players now holding 10's high.

GEO40XYZ WTOTE: "Unions will demand their wage scales be increased because of the Minimum wage base, companies will agree and then in return will increase the cost of their products. THE NET IS THE POOR SLOBS ON MINIMUM WAGE WILL BE ABLE TO PURCHASE EVEN LESS THAN BEFORE. THE OUTFLOW OF AMERICAN JOBS WILL INCREASE."

BINGO!!! Why is is it so hard for the sheeple to understand the obvious?

RAFTGUIDE WROTE: "Why $7.50/hr? Lets do it better. Let's raise it to $10, or $12, or $100!"

Once you confront a minimum-wage-increaser with a suggestion of increasing the minimum wage to $100/hour, they ADMIT why we couldn't POSSIBLY do that...No business could afford to hire anyone and the POOREST would be WORSE off!

But somehow, they don't figure out that establishing ANY minimum wage HURTS the POOREST the MOST.

Typical Rat exaggeration:

"The answer is something else. Pelosi plans to enact the Democrats’ “Six for ’06” agenda in 100 legislative hours — not real hours.

And a legislative hour is not just any hour that the House is open for business. “It’s when the House convenes, after the one-minutes and before the special orders,” says Pelosi spokesman Brendan Daly, referring to the times of day when members of Congress will sometimes drone on about any issue that comes to mind.

At that pace, Daly says, the first 100 hours “could take a couple of weeks.”

I could see a slight raise, but Pelosi's insane amount will result in mass firings and kill the economy.
