KEATING FOR PRESIDENT?

Former Oklahoma Gov. Frank Keating, in a recent lunch with veteran Republican political consultant Ed Rollins, explored the prospects of his making a run for president. Rollins replied that he should run only if he could raise a sufficient war chest.
Snip...
The rationale for Keating's presidential ambitions is the absence of a clear and viable right-of-center presidential candidate now that Sen. George Allen has been eliminated by his defeat for re-election in Virginia. Keating is a conservative and a prominent Catholic layman who at one time was a prospect to be George W. Bush's running mate in 2000.

Actually Nixon lost because of election fraud in Chicago but if you want to find a reason, it was the so called "missile gap" that Kennedy claimed Eisenhower had allowed to develop.
In the end, the "missile gap" was totally bogus.

If McLame, Rudy or Romney are our choices then the Dems win even if we win. Those are the choices with Romney a distant third.

I'm not speaking of PL Evangelicals....where did I post that???
I was unaware that Evangelicals were the only voting block that votes in Presidential elections. Silly me......I thought Dems, Libs, Moderates, Republicans & Conservatives voted for President. Get my point???

Re: "Missile Gap" being bogus: Yeah, just another instance of the MSM ca 1960, lying for the Democrats.

What is a PL Evangelical?
I realize that we are not the only voter's, but if we decided that we did not want a pro-life Catholic, there wouldn't be one!

Yep, totally bogus. The Soviets claimed to have hundreds of ICBMs when in fact they had around 6 that were operational.

I like and would consider voting for him. He is a Roman Catholic as I am. Is the country ready for a Catholic Pro Life President? Sadly, I don't think so.As long as he promotes a broad based agenda that comports with the priorities of most Americans, I think he certainly has a good shot, though at this point, as a dark horse behind the front runners.
If he stays away from the constitutional amendments, homophobia and other fundamentalist issues, which will turn off most voters, he certainly can work a room.

Pro Life. I'm not talking about Evangelicals, I didn't even bring up that group, you did......I'm talking mostly about the LEFT (moderate & nutcases). IMO 45-50% of Dem voters would never vote for him. Not to mention the Liberitarians. Just an opinion.... :)

Seems to be a nice and competent fella who will show up to talk about anything, anywhere, anytime if asked by any Radio/TV/Dead Tree folks.
Handled the Murrah Building Bombing in OKLA City very nicely.
A product of his time and a one size fits all Republican. A Roman Catholic and ex-FBI guy.
Inoffensive and not generally a committed conservative.
He will arouse a short rush of interest, but would be a really FINE to EXCELLENT selection as a candidate for VPOTUS

FOLKS! WE NEED A CANDIDATE AND WE NEED ONE SOON.
The MSM "Macaccaed" Allen. The media is pushing McLame, Rudy and Romney. They are all sorta right wing Dems; if any one of them gets the nomination the media wins again!
FOLKS, WE GOTTA FIND A CANDIDATE!

Doesn't sound like he's presidential material, because of the possible scandal.
Maybe you've seen his book, though:
It's for ages 6-9.

Good point. Sadly, I think the Drive By Media will disect him, to make him out to be an "evil conservative". They make me ill.

I guess he would be more electable if there were crude sex passages in his book. Webb comes to mind.:)

Election fraud probably cost Nixon Illinois, where Kennedy won by fewer than 9,000 votes, but Illinois didn't have enough electoral votes to change the outcome. There were credible reports of massive vote fraud in Texas as well. The Kennedy/Johnson margin there was about 46,000 votes. Nixon lost South Carolina by less than 10,000 votes but I don't know if there was voter fraud there too (Democrats were in charge so it's likely). Kennedy's margin in Hawaii was 115 votes.
Illinois + Texas = enough electoral votes

Is the country ready for a Catholic Pro Life President?
I'd vote for a pro-life Catholic to be President. Done it before, and I'd do it again. And I think we've got a pro-life Catholic Chief Justice. Americans like Roberts, and they like Justice Alito.
