Last year we moved out of a townhouse in a complex when the management refused to do anything about the RSO who was living there. The complex had a playground and a swimming pool and claimed to be family friendly.

We complained to the management and showed them a printout from the database. They said that they only considered credit rating (not criminal or sex offender status) when making a decision as to whether or not to rent to someone.

We told our neighbors with children about the RSO but were told that we could not post signs (the RSO might sue us for harassment). The RSO always had very fancy Christmas ans Halloween decorations.

You may want to check with your local police department if signs can be posted informing people where the RSO lives. It may not be considered harassment. Harassment may mean direct contact with the RSO but not include posting signs.

They can't stop a verbal campaign as long as you don't slander them. It's good to take the lead in your neighborhood, you may get elected Neighborhood Watch Block Captain! ;o)

As long as someone is NOT breaking the law, there's not much the police can do. If an RSO has to live somewhere, I'd have him around where good people can always keep an eye on him.
