They need some medieval treatment: in Florence [a relatively civilized place, by comparison with others] a killer would be carted to the execution- and the executioner would be there, right on the cart, with the red-hot pincers. Once the fire in the brazier to re-heat the pincers went out - the crowd stopped the procession, physically maltreated the executioner, and forced him to recharge the brazier at the nearby bakery shop before they were allowed to proceed any further [see Landucci's diaries]. Bring something similar to NO - and the moral climate there would palpably improve.
Sell the program to pay TV and then give all the proceeds to the victim's families...simple and entertaining too!
I think the activities you describe in Florence were not evidence of a high level of moral character.
