. Unless you think that had larger numbers of conservatives voted for Republicans, who were acting like Democrats, would somehow have made us safer from Jihadists and their many liberal apologists here.I'm afraid we haven't seen anything yet. The pretend Republicans *have* kept us safer than the real democrats will. Why else has the enemy been thrilled about the results of the election?

There have been some Republicans only too happy to join the Democrats in sabotaging tax cuts, fiscal responsibility, non activist judges, the principle of smaller government and even our national security for the sake of appearing as "moderates" to the media. I don't see how the "R" attached to their name makes them more worthy of support than if they had a "D" (or an "I" like Sen. Lieberman) instead.
When they speak, act and vote like a typical Democrat in condemning our intelligence gathering policies and military missions and trying to turn our war against the Jihadists back into a law enforcement problem for the international police squad to deal with, then what is the value of having them on our "team"?
The Republican Party of today may not control Congress any more, but they damn well better be intent on aggressively opposing the Democrats if they know what's good for them in '08.
