did they eat together? they might have shared sushi, for example.
It appears only Litvinenko at lunch that day. Mr Scaramella had only a bottle of water.
Is that like swapping spit? I don't want to know...
Can you say "sharing sushi" three times real quick?
How about possibly the amount he might have carried to poison Mr.Litvenenko?
my thinking was that at many asian restaurants it is not unusual to have food in middle and each person pick what they want, meaning both may eat from the same plate or roll or whatever but each on their own plate. as another poster mentions, since the italian did not eat, this muddles matters.
i don't think i can say it once quick, though. sharing shushi
if he did, i wonder if we will ever know.
The second man said he had only something to drink (coffee, I think), as he'd already eaten when he met with the now-dead man.
Sharing sushi at the seashore sure is not silly, sappy or sane. It's serious. Because sharing sushi at the seashore ensures your shall share sickness and suffer and slouch as you sink slowly into a slumber that stays and slays. Sayonara.
Where is Sherlock Holmes when we need him? The Case of the Insidious Isotope.
It may become fashionable to take a geiger counter to lunch.
Wouldn't this actually be more Mycroft's department?

Shudder
Bravo!
Thanks! I was momentarily inspired. And I wasn't even drinking!

..That meeting was the afternoon of Nov. 1 at Itsu Sushi, a frequent rendezvous spot for Litvinenko and his friend Italian academic Mario Scaramella.
Scaramella said he brought along an e-mail purporting to list emigres to Britain being targeted by Russian agents as well as the identities of Politkovskaya's killers. The academic declined to say who sent the e-mail to him.
Litvinenko ate a bowl of soup before he headed for a table where the two could discuss the secret e-mail, Goldfarb said.
...Hours after the sushi bar meeting, Litvinenko was taken to Barnet General Hospital in north London with stomach pains. His condition gradually worsened over the next two weeks.
Strange story. Why was the Italian hospitalized so late after this meeting ? Litvinenko was hospitalized hours after the Sushi meeting. The Italian must have been poisoned days later ? Obviously the 'hit list' takes on an incredible importance. Are the assassins still in England with more of this poison ? Was this a test run for a larger attack ?
