One of my first interviews, a Cpl. Gilbert Jensen, summed it up: Dont talk to me. I have nothing good to say.
That's my boy!! He called me when this article came out...so there I was in Borders books, getting some strange looks, reading this article.
And, BTW, he told me, he meant he had nothing good to say to or about the MSM/politicos back home..

Tell him thanks, and to remember, the FR gang supports the troops!

Count me in on the thanks too!
I wish your sons explanation of what he said was included in the article.

great article about Marines.
This: This story will seem a little sketchy and broad-stroked—because I’m stoned and I’m a liar. The former actually isn’t true...
kinda troubled me...what did he lie about, I wonder.

I did the same thing the first time I read through it. I thought "huh?". After I reread it I came to the conclusion that he could only have meant it literally. He was alluding to the "former" rather than "the latter".
Actually, it was a sentence that could have been left out altogether. I guess he thought he was pandering to the audience that read Maxim somehow. Guess he thought he had throw in some kind of cutsie line. That's journalism for ya. Good read anyway.

Thank you so much for the ping. I'm bookmarking the article. Fitzgerald was a Marine's Marine. God bless his soul.

FYI, I passed your videos on to Doc Martens' Dad. He is grateful. If ever Ted wants to call them, I have contact info. I met the family at the Time of Remembrance event in D.C. this past summer.

The link worked for me. Great story. Hope to see his documentary.
May God protect him on his next visit so the rest of the story can be made.
