I can recommend Robert Spencer's books without reservation. The unvarnished truth is presented in such a fashion as to remove any illusions one may hold regarding the murderous criminal system known as islam. I wish everyone in America would read Spencer's books.

Probably well worth the read. However, I am already convinced that Islam is one of the underlying causes of our current problems with the Mideastern countries. So, his books would be "preaching to the choir" in my case.

Islam is definitely a threat to the West and world peace. However, it would never be my goal to irradicate Islam. Nor would I even advocate pushing western ideals on Mideastern countries except for one.

Were it in my power to make this U.S. policy - that policy would be that we will insist that no country conquered (AKA "liberated") by the use of American armed forces, would be allowed to resume self rule until the new government has an absolute commitment to "freedom of conscience." By this I mean that all citizens may worship/believe (or not) as their own conscience dictates. That no one may use force (personal or corporate) or law to force anyone to subscribing to any religious view or system. Everyone should have the fundamental freedom to freely believe (or not) what they may without fear of retribution.

Therefore, I would never allow an "Islamic" state to be formed where the U.S. used force to overthrow a hostile government. Of course, the people would be free to personally subscribe to Islamic belief and morality, but it would not be enshrined in law. All beliefs would be allowed. This is what I think is necessary to pacify that troubled part of the world.

Yes, I guess I am naive
