The "SCO" that sued IBM is not the Santa Cruz Operation. It is the former Caldera Corp., a one-time Utah-based linux supplier. The Santa Cruz Operation sold the old "SCO Unix" business and the SCO moniker to these guys, then changed their own name to Tarantella. Sun Microsystems subsequently bought Tarantella for $25 million. No one would take SCO if you paid them $25 million.

Pet peeve of mine: That's "The SCO Group," not "Santa Cruz Operation." Santa Cruz Operation changed its name to Tarantella years back. Don't worry, the confusion was purposely planned by The SCO Group.
