Judging from the comments about democracy in Iraq and other things, I'd say there are many in the US, even here on FR, who don't really believe in self-government, either.

Two recounts, which were demanded by Democrats and required by law, have reconfirmed Mr. Buchanan's victory and slightly increased the margin. Looks like they are using the "Classical" Democrat Election-Theft model:
1) Find a sufficiently close election
2) Demand a re-count.
3) Keep re-counting until the Democrat is ahead.
4) Stop counting, and declare victory.
