This kind of brainwashed group-think is why it's so hard to be a conservative in Hollywood.

I pledge to no longer burn fossil fuel to view their product.

I just finished the book "State of Fear" last weekend, I really think that Michael Creighton has a thing for the Hollywood types. The mental picture of Martin Sheen being eaten by cannibals was excellent, and the facts he used to counter the global warming claims was truly and eye-opener.

Don't you just love the feel good BS?
Even by their own calculations, they supposedly calculate how much carbon dioxide you produce in a year, then give you an estimate for planting trees to remove that much CO2 over a seventy year span. It amounts to being 1/70 of the amount of trees necessary to keep up with one's output. In other words, complete crap.
But at least they found a great way to take hollywood's money.

Today, CO2 levels are understood to be 40% higher than at any other time in history. More lying crap.
From,
Historical CO2 levels
One point apparently causing confusion among our readers is the relative abundance of CO2 in the atmosphere today as compared with Earth's historical levels. Most people seem surprised when we say current levels are relatively low, at least from a long-term perspective - understandable considering the constant media/activist bleat about current levels being allegedly "catastrophically high." Even more express surprise that Earth is currently suffering one of its chilliest episodes in about six hundred million (600,000,000) years.
Given that the late Ordovician suffered an ice age (with associated mass extinction) while atmospheric CO2 levels were more than 4,000ppm higher than those of today (yes, that's a full order of magnitude higher), levels at which current 'guesstimations' of climate sensitivity to atmospheric CO2 suggest every last skerrick of ice should have been melted off the planet.....

You mean Hollywood is FINALLY going to shut it's collective pie hole?
Nah, didn't think so.

So some companies have figured out that they can get wealthy liberals to give them money as a way to buy themselves out of the guilt and poor publicity that their hypocrisy generates.
That's a nice gig. I congratulate them.

I pledge to no longer burn fossil fuel to view their product.
And I will no longer buy their CD's and DVD's, thereby reducing the demand for plastics used in their construction and lowering the amount of pollution said factories expel into the air during manufacturing.

The more carbon dioxide that's dumped into the atmosphere, the warmer the atmosphere gets. All they have to do is get George Clooney, Tim Robbins, Susan Sarandon, Sean Penn and Michael Moore to shut their big fat yaps and their dilemma would be resolved.

In other areas of the industry, most notably music, people have gone even further. The Dave Matthews Band, working with a company called Native Energy, has offset CO2 emissions for its entire history. They're trying to make up for the raw sewage their tour bus dumps into city rivers.

What the heck is "carbon neutral?" Planting trees every time you take off in your private jet? This is just plain retarded!

How damaging is making one 100 million dollar movie?
All the catering, all the cars and wood used? all the props and sets. All the dangerous chemicals in those processess.
And all the people that travel in CARS to get to see the movie? Millions of unecessary trips to the theater and back just for entertainment!!
My God.
Hollywood should terminate itself to save the planet.
Lead by example Hollywood.

CO2 is 40% HIGHER now than ANY time in history?
???
Yet this is "accepted" and stated as fact in the article. Is it any wonder that the discussion cannot even begin on (mankind's/the US's in particular) influence on
(1) gasses
(2) the influence of gasses on the world (if there is actually one)
(3) on the temperature in general..
(4) change in solar radiation or to other causes, causes that have been changing temperature since the earth began.

...One tree sequesters about 1.3 tons of CO2 over a 70-year period,...At which point it dies, decays, and ultimately releases all 1.3 tons of CO2 back to the atmosphere.
