Big news maybe....Breaking News? Uh, no.
It must be truly wrenching for him to have to walk away. . .and for the rest of the group, as wel..
Could be worse.
Luckily for him he made millions before he discovered that he had this condition. Now he can retire and live comfortably.
Good luck to him. My kids have been Wiggles fans for brief periods.
at least he can retire rich and comfortable. And he can probably think of other ways to entertain kids. I am glad he will take care of himself.
I must be missing sumpin'... ;)
God bless him. My grandkids love the Wiggles. We even took them to a Wiggly concert.
Yeah, actually kind of peaceful getting dressed on week day mornings to their show in the background as my youngest watched them.
Hypotension, although equally serious I'm sure, sounds odd. How about more stress, more salt, more fat, and more caffiene to ratchet that pressure up - just kidding of course.
My 2 year old granddaughter won't watch any of her DVDs except the Wiggles...she dances and sings to all of their songs...(and since I hear them a hundred times a day...so do I...LOL).
This is really sad...since Greg was the main Wiggle...
Better for him to retire..than possibly die on stage in front of kids or something..
My daughter loves them, and I couldn't stand them till I saw that special.
Good stuff!
I'm surprised there isn't an effective treatment for his condition.
"Passed On" is a poor choice of wording for a headline.
There are many meds that can cause othostatic hypotension as a side effect. I think most of the prostate meds and many BP meds have this as a side effect.
In terms of moneymaking artists, America had Elvis, England had the Beatles, and Australia had the Wiggles. Sucks to hear about it.
Both of my kids loved them, especially the oldest son. When they came to Oak Hollow Mall in High Point (NC), he went to see them and was the last kid in line to have his picture taken with them. They were very polite and, since he was the last kid in line, they spent a little more time with him and each one signed his video case and they all took several pictures with him. He still has that collection of pictures in a collage.
As much as I thought they were hokie and as much as they annoyed me listening to their songs every day, they were not shy about singing CHRISTmas songs and never apologized for their beliefs. They also didn't push enviro-whacko agendas or allow outside fringe groups to dictate how they related to the kids.
All in all, they are one of the best kids entertainment groups out there and I am sure this is tough on Greg. Seems like a good guy who genuinely loves making kids happy.
IIRC, he and the rest of the guys had their own kids participate in several of their acts and his daughter is one of the most beautiful, vivacious little girls I have ever seen. She is a real cute kid and seems to love performing. I think their wives also play a lot of the characters as well.
Greg's the Lennon of the group.
Man, I love Australians.
This is very sad, my daughter loves the Wiggles. It's usually the first thing she says when she wakes up, "Watch Wiggles? Greg, Anthony, Murray and Jeff?"
I'm pretty sure the replacement has been featured as the character "Professor Singalotta Songa" or something..an opera singer on some video..I can't believe I know that..
The Wiggles would actually use the "J word" at Christmas time.
Sorry to hear it.
Hey! A late entry for the Best Headline of the Month award!
