FWIW,

I bought the most religious Christmas cards I could find.

I made up some bright yellow stickers that say, "In God We Trust."

I made up some bright pink stickers that say, "Donation Enclosed."

I bought the Christmas stamp that has the Virgin Mary on it.

On Tuesdays and Thursdays I affix the stickers and stamp to one of these cards and mail it to the ACLU's New York City office.

I enclose with the card a $.01 check.

I started doing this on 10/31/06 and will mail the last card 12/19.

Thus far, none of the $.01 checks have cleared the bank :)

You should also enclose a letter demanding a receipt.

Personally I think we should all send a Money Order for 1 cent by certified mail and demand they return it or receipt it.

If you hear nothing back you write to them saying "I sent you a money order number xxxx on mm/dd/yy please advise that you have cashed this and provide me with a receipt.

Net loss to them on every "donation"

Get enough people to do this we could run them into the ground.

I imagine that makes you feel pretty bad to know that the ACLU is rejecting you and your heartfelt donations. You're probably suffering a lot of irreparable harm from such a vicious rejection.
