Acatually it was Ohio prop 5 and was voted on by a majority of Ohioans. As an ex-smoker, I know how awful the habit is, but it is worse for people to legislate what a business owner can allow legally on his own property. Prop 4, which relegated smoking to the dives and late night clubs, seemed the more rational choice. Most of my church friends voted for Prop. 5, so I had to ask them why they cared what went on at bars they never go to anyway. They agreed with me, and then said they wanted smoking banned regardless. Damn, sometimes Savage is right.

The righteous right is as dangerous to our liberty as the loony left. Both want to use the force of government to push their particular morals. Neither is willing to "live and let live." I fear for our once great Republic.
