Interestingly enough, people seem to be missing one point.
At least from the reviews that I have read, the book doesn't argue that Muslims will kill the Pope. Instead, according to Kaya's novel, the Pope is being targeted by, get this, Catholics

Riiiiiight.
The author gets it all ways: a fantasy detailing an assassination against the Pope, slander against a group of faithful Catholics, and the chance to deny that Islam is violent. But the point is, the book is still a detailing of a plot to the kill the Pope, timed for when that "fantasy" is closest to reality for those who fantasize about such things.
Oh, the pope warned my not to trust the CIA. - the Cardinal in Hudson Hawk.
I guess the only one left out of this conspiracy was OJ. Unless that is the surprise ending.
"Instead, according to Kaya's novel, the Pope is being targeted by, get this, Catholics."
Don't be absurd... What religion would kill its own leaders? Its own people?
(Other than Islam, of course).
To me, it sounds like your typical conspiracy of slander. The Jews perpetrated 911. The Catholics killed the Pope.
Ah, but they're getting a little ahead of themselves, aren't they? Maybe played their hand too soon?
Paranoia?
