She does address a very real issue that our society is very reluctant to address. Frankly, the women who should be having children--those who have the means to care for them, who have met success in life and could engender this spirit in their children--simply aren't having kids.

Meanwhile, welfare mom who sits at home pumps out 5 or 6.

This is not a model for success. The Me-Me-Mes (especially in urban areas) are a large reason Europe is going extinct.

To add another paradox, these educated and well-off people elect representatives who want to spend even more on welfare. Logic suggests that people like this have an unacknowledged desire to eliminate people like themselves from the population!

I don't lament the fact that "career" women tend not to have children. Many of these women are exactly the type that probably shouldn't have children in the first place. Quite frankly, very few of these so-called careers have any real value in the grand scheme of things, except to boost the career woman's ego. I have seen this first hand a number of times. Feminist brainwashing has been so successful that many women pursue relatively meaningless careers simply to avoid being defined with the dreaded label of "housewife" or "mother".

As an example, I once worked with a lady in an IT department who had a child (this lady was married) and immediately put her in expensive daycare. I worked out the cost of the daycare per year versus how much this lady made in salary and showed her that she was spending every penny of her salary on daycare, while at the same time, depriving herself of time with her daughter and her daughter of the benefit of being with her mother. The lady's response: "Well, I don't want to be just one of those stay at home moms." Unfortunately, it was really her daughter paying the price for that ego. Add to that the fact that this lady was only marginally competent at her job.

What we really need to do is to bring back the concept of a housewife as being respectable, necessary, and far more rewarding than one of these hollow "careers". Men throughout history have slaved away at various jobs, but most, I think, recognized that the true reward in the career was the ability to provide for their families, not the career itself. If you are not supporting a family, why even bother with a job you don't enjoy or are not well suited for?

There are selfish twits in this world. Perhaps even some on this thread. There are mentally ill folks who really shouldn't have children. There are Ba'al worshippers who killed their children. There are folks who desperately want to have children, but are unable due to illness, injury, or defect.

Meanwhile, welfare mom who sits at home pumps out 5 or 6.

Our governmnent subsidises bastardy, and discourages responsible parenthood through confiscatory taxation. It is no wonder that we have too much of the former, and too little of the latter.
