This thread is so funny. More and more people are seeing Tancredo for the jerk that he is.
What's even better are the Tancredoites trying to defend his actions by attacking other members or even President Bush.

Dubya won because of the Cuban backlash due to Elian and because the Cubans stormed the vote counters office when they went to count he votes behind closed doors.

Not just Miami--the whole state of Florida. My grandkids were happy to escape the place. Wages were so depressed in the construction industry--due to use of illegal labor--that the kids couldn't make ends meet.
They are now in the great state of Tennessee and doing fine.

Right on, Mr. Tancredo.

Tacredo is an idiot, that's a given.
However, he's wrong about the black parts of Miami (Alcee Hasting's district).
It's worse than Fallujah.

I cannot imagine that you have ever been to Miami. I was born in Miami and I have lived here most of my life. What Tancredo said is in the mind of most Americans that still remain here. I throughly enjoy the cultural diversity that our city offers but...Wherever you go you are addressed in Spanish. When you walk down the street, all you hear is Spanish. I speak Spanish fluently but this is America after all. I find it quite disrespectful that people who live, are educated, work, receive Section 8, Medicaid, food stamps and other financial aid in this country cannot find the courtesy to speak the language of the country that offers them freedom and a totally better life than wherever they came from.

Spent time there. Tancredo is wrong.

If Tancredo wants to visit third world areas-I suggest a field trip to the trailer parks in Edwards, CO.
Just across I 70 from the tony gated community of Cordillera are trailers where illegals live packed like cordwood.
In fact, the ski resorts in Colorado rely heavily on foreign workers. The faces the public sees at the lifts are here on legal visas, those behind the scenes are well known to be illegals.
Tancredo should stake out a parking lot at Keystone or Vail during shift change if he wants to catch some illegals.
Tancredo should clean up his own house first before he trashes other areas.
Tancredo may not realize it, but, there are a lot of illegals in the Denver area.
I visit So Fla frequently and while I do hear Spanish spoken often in Miami , less so in Aventura and Pembroke Pines-it's a vibrant and beautiful city.
To call it " third world " is ignorant.
