At the Naval Academy, when it came to service selection; aviation, surface Navy, submarine Navy or Marines, requests for the Marine Corps set a record. The Navy accepted a record number.
And this despite most assuredly becoming Platoon Leaders in Iraq after The Basic School at Quantico. And knowing the costs of war, having attended memorials and funerals for upperclassmen who mentored them before graduating and leaving for war.
And by the way....as you watch the march on to the field of Saturday's Army Navy game, the Midshipman in charge of the Brigade, known as the "Midshipman Captain", already has his degree from University of Southern California (USC).
The only loser without options I see in this debate is Charlie Rangel.
