Does that mean we will have to start calling Brazil nuts "Brazil nuts"?

If you don't get the point here, then you are beyond the realm of reality in seeing that it is indeed JUST A WORD!

Perhaps. Perhaps not. Is the American flag just another piece of cloth, or does it have meaning? Is a cracker a food or a racial epithet? You can bury your head and play the "It's-Just-A-Word" game all you like, but it doesn't change how certain words affect different people.

Suppose your child's class decides that your kid is ugly and calls him/her ugly all day, every day? Are you happy about that? Is your child? After all, it's just a word.

The point is that as long as we treat each other like crayons and not people, the problem proliferates.

I'm not a color of the rainbow, I'm DustyMoment. If you want to be a color of the rainbow rather than a human being, that's your choice. After all, according to you, colors are just words.

Well,Jezebelle, back in the old days when I was coming up there was something in the schools called discipline and respect.
Sadly, for a student to be expelled today he has to just about come in naked blasting with two sawed off shotguns!
If I kicked out every student who cursed and was badmouthing off in class I would have some VERY small classes.
Which wouldn't be a bad idea!

No matter what SOME blacks do,its still wrong to use"that"word.
I still contend that black criminals and thugs are much more dangerous to each other than whites.Example-we are at around 150 murders this year.Nearly all the victims are black or Latino.Almost all those arested or named as suspects are ALSO black and Latino.
Whites in my town are basically irrelevant.

I should have explained a bit more with my comment. My husband is a teacher. I know the kids who say that won't be expelled. But I'm also saying they should be and, before the lawyers got involved in education, they would have been.

They may be irrelevant, but let me guess which race is paying the tax burden for the policing and prosecuting of these cases.

Well, out here its EVERYONE who pays for prosecuting these cases, not just one race. Our town is more and more Asian and Mexican now and some of those folks got some MONEY,especially the Asians if the line at the Property Tax Collector the other day was any indication!

Are they the ones committing the crimes we're talking about?

No,they are not the ones comitting the crimes.Middle class homeowners rarely are criminals.
Yet in the same way we all have to pay for the public schools whether we have kids in the schools or not,all of us have to pay for the criminal justice system even though we are not the ones thugging out and wreaking mayhem out there.

How about a total ban of Jesse (one of the leading members of the race-baiting industry) from CIVILIZATION?

Hey, I'd like an industry-wide "f"-word ban. Do you suppose they'll do that next?

Oh no, wait . . . that's a fascist denial of the right of free speech and a "turning back of the clock" which would result in the reinstitution of slavery. My bad.
