"Now that the Democrats control congress, there will be no major hurricanes for at least two years."
It just means a bigger tree will crash through your roof later on.

Well of course future hurricanes will be more destructive than those in the past. We've been building on sand in coastal regions like crazy for the last couple of decades. The fact that there are more targets, means there will be more destruction!Very true, and the federal government often pays the goons to rebuild in the same place.
What a country.

Hurricane Katrina didn't "slam" into New Orleans.

"it is all but certain that future hurricanes will be more violent and destructive than those in the past."
There was an article in the paper about a Cat. 3 (130mph winds and 21 ft. storm surge) that hit New England around Thanksgiving in the 1600's, some yrs. after the Pilgrims had arrived in the New World. Wonder how ALGORE would explain that event?

I notice the words "probably won't" and "no promise" which tell me they still don't like the fact they were wrong this year and they are hoping for a better chance of destruction and misery next season.

"The predictions resulted in big business down this way ... Katrina has become a cash cow on multiple levels."
It already is- for the corrupt official in LA and their friends. I spoke to a man on Sunday who was burned by the corrupt system in NO when he brought in a team of men to help place FEMA trailers. Said he lost $5M because government connected people who had the prime contracts refused to pay and the legal system was in bed with the lawyers.
He was from NY and said that LA is much worse than NY. The LA system is corrupt from the bottom to the top- like a 3rd world country in Africa or South America. He saw little hope for rebuilding NO.

I thought Al Gore said we'd all be blown away this season due to global warming and Karl Rove causing more hurricaines. Gee now I don't know what to panic about.

The major news networks so badly wanted to paint a doom and gloom scenario for the Bush Administration that it willingly and knowingly printed bogus stories from weather predicters, which are less accurate than 'psychics' in long-term predictions.

Nowhere in the article did it say that the dire predictions for '06 were pure fabrications and designed to "scare Granny" for enviro purposes. When will these "scientists" take responsiblity for such nonsense?
I say, "Let the floggings begin."

"Chaos", written by J. Gleick, does a wonderful job of explaining why weather predictions will never be accurate. I am really surprised this book - or chaos itself - has not been mentioned more during grobal warming debates.....C

And 'Karl Rove's Evil Weather Machine' is responsible for all others.
