X thinks "well, if he asks me where I'm going, I should not tell him the truth that I'm going to A, and should instead say that I'm going to B. But since he would not believe me, I am to say that I am going to A". Well, they meet, exchange greetings, and merchant Y asks, "well, and where are you going?"
