Look at a dollar bill. Yes it says "one dollar" but the number one appears in all four corners of both sides in large text! There is nothing confusing about it.

Actually, I think Killjoy meant pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters. Foreigners still manage to get ones and tens confused. They are used to monopoly style multi-coloured money.

Correct. The US is the only country I know of that refuses to put numerical values on coins. I have no idea how this tradition started but this change is long past due.

Our notes in England are different widths for different values.

I have often wondered how blind people in the US distinguish one bill from another.
