THEY are the unheard comments which have intrigued the world for decades — the hidden musings of a madman.
Silent home movies of Adolf Hitler casually chatting to his lover Eva Braun have consistently fascinated and frustrated historians.

In a bizarre, calculated manner, Hitler can be seen chatting to his girlfriend about the same things that couples talk about today.
“I understand you didn’t like the movie last night,” he says, grinning. “I know what you want. You want Gone With The Wind.”
If you did not know who was saying them, the words would be unremarkable — boring even.
But the fact that this is the man who waged war across the world and tortured and killed six million Jews gives his mundane, cosy chats with Eva a chilling dimension.
“You talk about a dress that doesn’t fit . . . imagine my problems.”
His tone is calm and measured, his body language is unassuming.

"The Berkut" is an interesting read. It's the story of Hitler's escape from the mess he created. Good fiction. Could be a decent flick.
As an aside, I have always wondered why Hitler is deemed more notorious than Stalin. If one is to use sheer numbers murdered, Hitler could have taken lessons from Stalin. Whereas Hitlers is credited with 6 mil + dead, Stalin had something likse 28 mil listed to his credit.
I've always wondered what movie extras are saying to each other when they are supposed to be conversing like in a party scene.
Not to mention 3 million Russians, 1 million Poles, half a million Gypsies, etc. etc.
Oh yes, it's a big Hollywood-Jewish conspiracy < rolls eyes >. I'm really not aware of anyone who pretends that Jews were the only people killed by the Germans during the War.
And don't forget communists, Hitler would have exterminated every communist in Europe if England and the US had not created the second front.
We saved most of Europe from Hitler and then handed it over to Stalin.

Earlier this year, Michael Medved (Jewish talk show host) did three days (three hours each day) on WWII Germany and the Holocaust ... quite interesting. Go to his website to buy audio tapes. His research showed Nazis killed the Jews, gypsies, priests, nuns, mentally impaired, phsyically impaired, etc., but NOT homosexuals. The Nazis were sexual perverts into all sorts of deviant behavior with children and homosexuals, drugs, and even the murder of millions of people.
Because the people who write histories, report the news and make movies thought Ol' Joe was a pretty neat guy...
Hitler killed tens of millions of people. Six million Jews, plus another six million other civilians in death camps, plus tens of millions of others in battle and battle-related activities. Remember also that the bulk of the men Hitler killed were killed between late 1941 and early 1945, a rate of murder unequaled in human history.

Well I don't think it is "big" or even a "conspiracy", but yes, the Jewish viewpoint is well-represented by Hollywood's output. I don't think it is particularly intentional, but it misrepresents in this particular case, the scope and breadth of Nazi crimes.

Oh, they are out there. These are the folks who get their history from the popular media, so this is a further criticism of the Hollywood perspective. I don't get the "pretend" verbiage, they are actually ignorant of the facts.

I'll take a stab at this. Liberal college history professors like to portray the Nazi's as right wingers. Left wing murderers get a pass.
What I wish I could see is Hitler's face when Pope Benedict entered Auschwitz, to pray in the room St. Maxmilian Kolbe died in. Everyone points out the German Pope was once a Hitler Youth, well, he's definitely spitting in Hitler's eye there!

Speaking of "HAL", I taught my 8yr old daughter a "trick" to do with her friends. She'll say "I can read your mind. I know what you're thinking." Her friend says, "What am I thinking, then?" and she replies, "You're thinking I can't read your mind."
She pulled it on one little guy and she said his response was, "Oh MAN! You DID!"

Bravo, sir, bravo! I've never heard it explained in so few words, how the Nazis' fanaticism diverted huge amounts of treasure, fuel, personnel, and resources into the extermination of the Jews, to the detriment of the Germans' own war effort. Fueled by a hatred so total it ate into the guts of those who harbored it, just like today's Islamic terrorists.

That book was one of the sources for Michael Medved's position that Nazi were very much into homosexuality, and that homosexuals were not rounded up for the execution.
For years I've been amazed how someone can make a comment, and in moments, others can post original sources, pictures, quotes, and best of all, jokes about the comment. FreeRepublic readers are brilliant.
I found this on a web site hosted by Radio Talk show host Dr. Stanley Monteith. I remember he interviewed the author of this book several years ago and thought it would compliment Medved's comments. I'm glad to hear your report that he referred to this book as a resource.
No, he was just ahead of his time. He'd fit right into the democratic party today.
