The breakthrough means the dictator’s statements can finally be revealed — word for word.
In a bizarre, calculated manner, Hitler can be seen chatting to his girlfriend about the same things that couples talk about today.
“I understand you didn’t like the movie last night,” he says, grinning. “I know what you want. You want Gone With The Wind.”
If you did not know who was saying them, the words would be unremarkable — boring even.
But the fact that this is the man who waged war across the world and tortured and killed six million Jews gives his mundane, cosy chats with Eva a chilling dimension.
“You talk about a dress that doesn’t fit . . . imagine my problems.”
His tone is calm and measured, his body language is unassuming.

Hitler killed a lot of everybody, but it is not inaccurate to set apart the extermination of the Jews from everything else.
Why? Because he wanted to exterminate an entire people group. His goal was THE extermination of the Jewish People.
Yes, he tortured and murder many, many other people but not in order to rid the world of their race.
The first thing that came to my mind, too.

In all respects save one: the "enemy" at this front was not armed.
Hitler said that if he were married he would lose a large part of his fan base.
Look up the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising.
12,000,000....jews, gypsies, priests, nuns, other clergymen, mentally impaired,phsyically impaired......the list goes on.
Which makes it all the more horrible. And, of course, it also points out the folly of being "not armed" in the face of somebody like Hitler.
Hitler exterminated homosexuals in the camps.
I always though it would be great if someone, say the History Channel for example, would provide a translation of HItler's actual speeches. Most people are familiar with the tone of those wild-eyed tirades but have no idea what he is actually saying. They might be surprised to find out that, in addition to the racial crap, Hitler was blasting capitalism. Yes, he was a socialist. Surprise!
That is why I get very annoyed at the abysmal ignorance of Leftists who compare Bush to Hitler.

Yet judging from the media and historical spotlight thus far, those killed by the two Communist beasts are viewed as somehow less important than Hitler's victims.

I'm intimately familiar with the Warsaw action. What makes it so remarkable is the fact that it was unique. Warsaw alone saw any armed resistance to the "Final Solution." And the arms used by the legendary fighters in that action were purloined from a variety of sources, but seldom belonged to the fighters themselves, Hitler having confiscated all civilian firearms long before April of 1943.

He also tried to rid the world of Gypsies, Roma, and Sinti.
It seems absurd and bizarre I agree, but the facts speak for themselves and suggest -- for reasons nobody can fathom, that the Germans actually used as many resources killing the Jews as they used fighting all the Western Allied powers. I'd advise you to start out by reading Lucy Dawidowicz's work on the subject.

It is when it perpetuates a misleading impression. Many, thanks to Hollywood and other sources, believe that Hitler targeted ONLY Jews.
I'm well aware of Hitler's insane efforts in addressing the "Jewish problem", but the author does a disservice to the millions of non-Jews murdered by the Nazi's. 3 or 4 words would have been all that it took.
