"In a technical sense, John Brown (1800s) was a terrorist and motivated by Christianity."

John Brown was a radical opponent of slavery. Slavery is a crime against humanity. Muslims on the other hand seem to have no problem with slavery. Again, the analogy is ludicrous...since Brown's motive wasn't the spread of Christianity, it was to end slavery.

The comparison was to show Christians acting as "terrorists." Slavery was not recognized as a crime against humanity in the mid-1800s. It was generally seen as the natural order of thing and a pretty sweet deal for some in the south.

I'm out. Off to work.

Even if the claim were that Brown's motive arose from his adherence to Christian principles rather than a desire to proselytize, that claim would also be hard to support given the numerous axe murders committed by Brown and his sons.

John Brown was an unhinged fanatic who just happened to fixate on slavery as his excuse for unleashing his rage on others. I only regret that the POS could only be hanged once.
