Don't know where the "strong cowboy" went after 9/11, but he lost his spine. Now, if this is true, rather than going down fighting the rats on every issue, he will be giving in without a fight.
I agree, last straw for a lot of GOPers if he caves on this one! I guess he figures, he's outta here in 2008, so why should he care!!!!
Maybe but I'll tell y'all what would be the death knell of the party, is if W caves on Iraq.
I certainly hope that all these rumors are not really "trial balloons" to see what the reactions are to these propositions.
The day after the elections Bush signaled to the Rats that he would be open to considering an increase in minimum wages. Of course he was ecstatic (dare I say "orgasmic?") over the prospect of getting his open-border/Shamnesty bill thru Congress. Now the rumors about Iraq and this?
I'm hoping this is all just something the Dhimis are thinking could happen and are trying to push W into a corner, however, seeing that Bush does NOT know the meaning of Veto; is not known for his willingness to fight and take a stand, then I'm going to hold my breath--and pray a lot.
. . .That strong cow-boy has been fighting the fight; everyday since 9/11 to which which this country should be grateful. Why toss him on a rumor?
OTOH. . .even a good cowboy can get beaten down to something unrecognizeable. . .when day after day, multiple body blows are routinely delivered; and post-election shows that he has been stomped as well, by his own people.
What is left, perhaps, is but to please the factional majority. . .give them what they want, or what it appears they want; and that may include a tax hike; because the Dems just came roaring in as the winners.
The good cowboy, at this point, may feel the need to be more accomodating.
