So true. How often I have thought about that, particularly the past year. The left adeptly creates failure, not success and moreover turns success into failure. Self-fulfilling prophets of our own demise. I really do loathe them.

Mia, if the president had made the kind of speeches to the American people, that he made to the troops, it might be an entirely different ballgame.

It's not the speeches.It's his inability to communicate ideas when left to his own devices. (Bush speechwriter, Michael Gershon has written some of the most beautiful speeches, powerful enough to overcome Bush's generally uninspired delivery.)

Oddly, missus clinton suffers from a similar affliction. So she, too, is kept hidden. But her people fill the vacuum with proxies, ranging from paid operatives to unpaid operatives, i.e., the media, to the virtual ubiquity of PR (press releases, ads, cover stories... and tv shows like 'Commander-in Chief')

You mean it's not the speeches to which you were referring when you stated the president had an inability to communicate. I say he didn't even try. Listening to some good speeches from him as we used to listen to President Reagan's would have gone a long way.

And as for Hillary, glad to know she has the same affliction, though additionally she doesn't even give good speeches.

Very true. Neither clinton gives a good speech, which says something about relative taste and intelligence of Bush vs. the clintons.
