Wrongo, bwana: timberlands in the South and the East are almost exclusively owned by the big paper and timer products companies.

Here in Texas, only a miniscule amount of land is government-owned; it is almost ALL privately-owned: timber, grazing, oilfields - you name it

I know. You can't even get off the pavement without trespassing, unless you have a hunting lease.

But in areas where there is lots of public hunting land being locked up there is no excuse for not having access.
