Any time a church is described as "welcoming," that is a code word for gay. Some people can do no wrong. They are protected. And it does not matter if the sicko exploited little boys or little girls (although it helped immensely that he is a gay leader and a Democrat). We see San Francisco values in action, and from what I hear Asheville is the San Francisco of the East. Meanwhile, if a conservative "community leader" had gotten so much as a parking ticket it would be the crime of the century.

"Protected" doesn't really described the situation.

They are enthusiastically celebrated and lovingly embraced!
The more bent and morally criminal, the more they are affirmed in
the "world turned upside down" view of liberalism.
