Hehehehehe...you really are clueless, aren't you? I have friends "on the ground" as we speak. My best friend from high school is a Marine E-8, and was "on the ground" in Fallujah, forced to sit on his hands while Sadr's men rearmed and refortified their fighting positions, while we got suckered into "cease fire talks" that were nothing but a way to buy time.

Dittoes.

Too much worry about 'establishing democracy' and not enough about 'establishing peace' so far, IMO.

I think that's the fault of the politicians, not the military, BTW.

The Iraqi's themselves should resolve their own internal civil differences. That is the plan.

We have removed a dictator. The Iraqi's have established their own Constitution and elections. We are training their security forces. When the security forces are ready to go, the troops will come home. The plan has been stated numerous times.

The politician CIC is responsible for the plan, not "politicians" plural, and not the military.

I am in 100% agrement. However, most officers become politicians and yes men as soon as they make O-6. They're busy trying to make that next star, or positioning themselves for a civilian political job after the hang up the green (or blue, white, khaki) suit. If you want to find the truth, talk to a crusty old bast**d of a First Sergeant, or some Captain who has to write a letter to the parents of a young PFC in his unit that just became a casualty to the "religion of peace". I'm so thankful I don't have that job.

Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!
