Do you really think we fought the cold war to bring freedom and democracy to Eastern Europe?

Nah President Reagan was just joking when he told Gorby to tear down that wall. He didn't give a crap whether anybody gained their freedom or not.

Of course some did and many have become very good allies.

Maybe Reagan was right after all.

Nonetheless, we didn't "fight" the Cold War to free Eastern Europe. We "fought" it to keep the Godless Commie SOBs on their side of the line. A free Eastern Europe was a very nice bonus.
