The Watergate dictionary: oversight it means harass, harry, hound, badger, bait, annoy, bother, irk, plague, hector, nag, pester, keep after, torment, distress, browbeat, bully, heckle, needle, ride, tease, rib; also, to trouble persistently or incessantly; systematic persecution by besieging with repeated annoyances, threats, demands, or misfortunes; unrelenting pursuit to gain a desired end; to nag or tease persistently; to inflict a succession of petty annoyances; the infliction of tribulations, such as worry or vexation, likened to an epidemic disease; to torment by or as if by taunting, insulting, or ridiculing. Was Nixon, et al. guiltless? No.

Did the MSM say one thing about LBJ bugging Goldwater? No.

Did LBJ try to cover up? Didn't have to! See immediately above.

Did the MSM ever criticize Democrat Dick Tuck's dirty tricks? No. (They loved them)

Oversight, it's what destroyed the last wartime administration. It's what Rats do.

Obviously American Heritage did not define Watergate that way but they did supply the words I used.
