Over the years, I have given Rush a great deal of credit as being instrumental in transforming the political landscape for conservatives--and so, I've given him a great deal of slack because of that. I would never suggest that conservatives throw him under the bus for this...lapse in propriety. I think that, as Current suggested, he must be confronted. Slap his wrist; let him know not to do it again.

As I said before more than once, and maybe you may have missed it previously, I CANNOT believe that Rush had anything to do with that show and it's leading story (sex with a lamb). He would never have done that (jmo). Someone does need to be fired though.

I cannot agree with you there. This country has always been conservative, it always really will be conservative (at least those with a job or over 35). If Rush hadn't come along when he did someone else would have, and they more than likely wouldn't have been such an insecure, falsely arrogant actor.

I have not liked what he has done to the face of conservatism. That's just me. To me and many others, he's very insecure, falsely pompous, self-congratulatory, and really not at all that smart. He turns OFF more people to the conservative side than he influences toward our side.

He needed to retire to the golf course a long time ago.............. where he could really be to the right (of the fairway).

****

Let's have Mark Steyn three hours a day five days a week and see how things go. Here's betting that things would be much, much better for all conservatives and for this country.

Maybe Steyn will get a full time gig on radio soon. I heard him that time he subbed for Rush (or was it Sean?). He was very good.

Radio is a tough medium to survive in. Talkers come and go. Rush has a proven track record. He makes lots of money for the stations that carry his show. And though he may be a flawed messenger, he reaches millions of people with the conservative message. Who knows--maybe someday Mark Levin will become bigger than Rush.
