There must be a lot more than "wiring" to delay construction.
The freighter version would not have the wiring to seats that they explain, as the problem.
I think it is more the 5 tons overweight that is the problem.
It reduces either the payload or fuel enough that it won't work in the proposed applications.

Airbus won't go down. Unlike Boeing, their losses are covered by the taxpayers.

LOL, when I first saw your photo, with the fisheye character of the nose of the plane, it looked to me like something had laid a giant egg.

I thought that I read in a different article posted on FR in the past week that Airbus had solved the weight problem.

They sunk a lot of money in the plane and if they can't get enough orders for the AB 380, the fallout may be the least of Airbus's problems.

Here's what Jaques Chirac said about it the A380 when it was laungched. I am quoting the quote from the article. That should be covered under fair use.

Airbus had solved the weight problem What did they do?
Must have left off the vertical tail and solved the problem of it falling off in flight.

" I thought that I read in a different article posted on FR in the past week that Airbus had solved the weight problem."I'd be interested if you can find this article and ping me to it as I am in the industry and I had not heard this yet. I'm in the camp of believers that this is the real problem, not some "wiring problems". It is not easy (or cheap) to wring five tons out of a design this late in the game.

Perhaps he should have used a phrase other than "go down" !!

Could this be the article you seek?

Read it carefully, because they claim to have a solution but never specify what or how. Later on in the article the tense changes from present to future, as in "will have solved". I think they're assuming and hoping more than solving...
