They are floating north from the south pole, does this indicate global warming or global cooling? (I am so confused)

I believe it indicates they are floating north from Antarctica. Nothing much more.

(Except that they were perhaps either a bit bigger than usual to begin with and/or that the ocean's a bit colder than usual)
