Haven't heard of any passport requirements for cruise ship passengers (unless they're FORNATs).
I suppose a passport would be required if the ship visited foreign ports prior to sailing to Hawaii.....but then one would need a passport to enter a foreign port.
I'll have to wait till a foreign cruise ship visits and ask.

Do illegal aliens really need a passport? You think they are really going to get one if they want to be illegal? haha
The government has a hard time tracking illegals now. Think the passports would help them find them easier, or is it just another "law" the government is putting in the books to make money off of all us rich Americans?

My girlfriend went on a cruise this week and she had to get one. Don't know if it was necessary, or not.

I'm curious what the penalty will be for not having a passport, for we "legals". I REALIZE aliens don't have them. I won't be surprised if they are harder on all of us than them. Do these regulations change alien entry provisions? Unintended, or possibly intended consequences, you know. Happy Thanksgiving.

There it is.
My guess at the penalty is that they won't let you go home until you are verified citizen.
Why can't the gov. take care of the situation as it is now before throwing in all kinds of laws, regs., etc. I think they are looking to make money off of folks buying passports.
