To: Sarajevo

I have such mixed emotions about this. There are so many serious concerns, but on the positive side, it harkens back to the days of the goal to land a man on the moon, the creation of our highway system and, frankly, the first coast-to-coast railroad.

It is the type of thing that made this country great and a place of which people were proud to be a part.

It is the sort of thing we have not even entertained in decades!

I am not against upgrading our infrastructure, but I am against the way the issue is being handled. Many of us in Texas see it as a big land grab. It's being sold as the answer to all of our transportation issues. It has even extended to the tolling of local existing roadways which have already been paid for (US 281, FM 1604 in San Antonio).

One question does remain in my mind though. If we have a massive highway running from Mexico to Canada, why secure the borders?
