This is why it is so stupid to try and "annoint" Gulianni or McCain now for 2008. Who knows who will pop up this year.

I hear him talk to Mark Larson at KOG600AM - he sounds like a nice guy.

Here is an article about Duncan Hunter...

He sure sounds "good" to me....I am glad more information is getting written about him.

I don't care if he is from the house (and to some an automatic disqualifier). The more I hear, the more I like him.

History is not on his side. The last Congressman elected to be President was James Garfield. I believe he had the added kudos of being the Speaker of the House.

However, good luck to him.

Regards, Ivan

"I don't look at the border as an immigration issue, I look at it as a national security issue."
History suggests that voters in early primary states will recognize and embrace a message of peace through strength, conservative social values and conservative illegal immigration policy.

Finally, someone I can be excited about for '08!

Everything I've heard so far from/about Duncan Hunter sounds good. I saw a few great clips of him last night on Fox News. Hopefully we will have a clear conservative alternative to the two supposed GOP front runners. Though if it comes down to it and I had to choose between the RINOs I'd go with Rudy cause I'm convinced McCrazy is mentally unbalanced on top of his love affair with the MSM and stomping of the First Amendment.

To say that anyone is to the right of Mclame or Guliani is stating the obvious.

I am seriously taking a look at Duncan Hunter. If he were nominated what is the possiblity that he could actually carry CA in the general?

Duncan Hunter is truly one of the good guys. He would make a wonderful VP. He does not have the "IT" factor to win the presidency (especially against Hillary).

If he's as strong on border security AND Tancredo's 'attrition' (NO EARNED SHAMNESTY), then I'm all for him, can he run with Tancredo? lol.

The only problem I see for either one, is what we have already witnessed. The GOP will work AGAINST anyone who's not walking lock step with Bush on this issue. And now we've got Martinez at the RNC who's agenda is COMPLETELY the opposite of Hunter/Tancredo. That's why Bush wanted him, even in dual roles.

But if either of them is going to toss their hats in, they need to do it NOW. We must stop the OBL before Bush and Pelosi can pass shamnesty.

I checked the Gun Owners of America rankings. Hunter, appropriate to his name, earned an A.

I'm with the rest on this thread, the more I hear about this guy, the more I like him.

His positives are VERY positive. I could actually get enthusiastic about Hunter.

Are there any skeletons?

Did he jokingly call anyone some sort of obscure primate recently? Did he use a racial term in jest sometime in the last 40 years? Did he serve in a military branch that is acceptable to liberals? Can he rise above a faked memo?

Because he's going to run against democrats that have only drowned young women, recruited members for the KKK, been impeached and removed from the bench for bribary and have connections to acts of sedition.

So he's gotta be clean.

I'm not sure America is ready to elect a house member president, but hopefully Duncan sticks around and runs for US Senate against Boxer in 2010 (if he doesn't get a cabinet post, of course).
