Bill Sali is a fine Christian man, a solid conservative, and an experienced legislator.
I'm happy to see that his fellow freshman recognize his leadership abilities.
Congratulations, Bill!
To: Waywardson; Broadside; Gelato; Delphinium; Taxman; Jim Robinson; Ladycalif; MountainFlower; ...
Ping...
Bill Sali is a prolife, profamily, constitutionalist warrior.
If we just keep adding men and women of this caliber, eventually we will win...

From a 'reliable source':
If you have the ability to leave comments on FR, you should let everyone
know that you heard from a "reliable source" that it was Sali who
corralled the 6 Club freshman into voting as a bloc to elect himself and
two other Club guys to leadership positions. There were only 13 GOP
freshmen so the Club was just one vote short of locking in everything.
But it was easy to pick up that one non-Club vote.

i suppose that's all well and good but being president of the freshman class is a rather meaningless position.... the important job is to be the freshman representative to the leadership, whcih gets you a seat on the committee on committees.

Sali, Smith, Bachmann, Wahlberg and I'm sure there are more. What a great freshman class.

Yes, I voted for him. This was the first time I got to vote for someone I actually met.
One of the few bright spots in this election.

Well, of course it is. But, nonetheless, it's good to see a good man like this stepping up to lead in any way that he can.
In Sali's sixteen years in the Idaho Legislature, he wrote large portions of the Idaho Code as it now exists, including one whole chapter. He knows the process. I'm expecting great things from him in the coming years.

I've heard a lot of criticism of the CFG. The Left has tried to demonize them and make them a campaign issue. Some of our friends in the border security movement have misrepresented who they are and what they do. But, the fact is, no one has done more than they have to bring real resources to bear on electing real conservatives and defeating RINOs. God bless 'em.

What a great freshman class. Indeed!
Now it's our job to send them reinforcements in '08.

I just hope he pays attention to the folks back home, does his basic homework and shores up his support -- he didn't win by all that much. Were I advising the Main Street Partnership types, I would suggest they seriously consider running a more moderate candidate against him in the primary two years hence -- giving them a scalp of their own to hang on the wall. But I'm not (and never would) so I won't.

Yup -- its a big job all righty... As class president, Sali will train the other incoming freshman in House rules and organize weekly issue seminars. He also will plan get-together receptions with Democratic members.

He won by plenty when you consider who was trying to smear him from the beginning.
He already has been listening, he was the choice of the Idaho Republicans because he really does believe in the Idaho Republican Plaform.
A more moderate candidate won't work , that was tried this last primary. Idaho Republicans are smarter than that.
To: PDR
Well, your thinking reveals alot.
RINOS and Dems were way ahead of you on that, though, and they threw everything they had it, along with the their friends in the Democrat Media.
But it just didn't work.

"He also will plan get-together receptions with Democratic members."
Why would any decent person want to associate with those vile, loathsome scumbags?
