This Tunisian philosopher evidently believes that other people can't read the Koran for themselves.

Arabs are Semetic.
What about Persians?

The Koran can be reduced to an antisemitic rant, because it is pretty much an anti-Jewish, anti-Christian, and anti-Pagan rant, with tender favors for Muhammad (such as permission to marry his adopted son's wife) thrown in.
Pretending the giant turd is not there doesn't make it go away.

"Arabs are semitic" is such a lame attempt to win an argument by using a semantic confusion. Arabs may be classified as "semitic", but "antisemitism" was coined to mean anti-Jewish.

I didn't invent these terms.
It is not my fault other people use imprecise terms.
I'm kinda tired of adults that speak like a five-year-old.
Use the correct word.

All this is to say that the petrifaction of Arab-Muslim mentalities is not at all irremediable .....A few questions for the worthy oriental gentleman:
(1)In all intellectual and scientific candor, how many of us infidels have to be sacrificed before the gentle thoughts of the worthy oriental gentleman take hold?
(2) How in the name of Muhammed's Pyjamas are we supposed to tell a rational Muslim from an irrational Muslim ... quickly?
(2a) If you can tell, why don't all of you rational worthy oriental gentlemen get together and handle it? If radical Islam is a heresy, why not take a page from a Pope or two, and crush it?
(3) We are now in our 14th consecutive century of JIHAD... and now you come up with this startling aperçu?

One cannot reform a theocracy; one must throw it back into the wastebasket of history, from which it never should have cropped up [in the first place].

"In Iran, and in general in the Muslim world, the line of demarcation does not pass between 'moderate' Islamists and 'extremist' Islamists, but rather between theocrats and democrats, between fundamentalists and secularists, between those who have reduced the Koran to a case of nauseating antisemitism and those who, having seized the spirit and put the letter in perspective, know that Jews, like Christians, are Muslims' brothers in monotheism and in humanity, and that the Muslims' God is much more tolerant than the Islamists' divinity..."

In spite of what Pres. Bush says; the Jews , Muslims and Christians don't believe in the same God. That's the conflict. - tom

Meaning that they've reduced the Koran to its original essence.
