MARTINEZ - Police have arrested convicted sex offender Cary Verse on suspicion on violating the conditions of his release, authorities said.

Walnut Creek Police arrested 36-year-old Cary Verse at 2 p.m. on Saturday, a spokesman at the County Jail said.

Verse has lived on the Bay Point property of two defense attorneys since February 2005.

Under the conditions of his release from Atascadero State Mental Hospital in 2004, he may leave his home for work and to see friends and therapists, only during authorized times and in the company of authorized people. He must carry a GPS tracking device.

Sheriff's spokesman Jimmy Lee said Verse violated one of the conditions.

Verse was convicted of assaulting four males from 1988 to 1992. He assaulted a 14-year-old when he was 17, a 17-year-old when he was 18, another 14-year-old when he was 19 and a 23-year-old when he was 21.

After he was paroled from prison, the Department of Mental Health placed him in a special program for sexually violent predators.

If a judge finds that Verse violated the conditions of his release, Verse could go back to the state hospital.

We spent a lot of time talking about Verse. He's a predator imposed on society by the mis-named judicial system. Defense lawyers ended up renting him a home, but maybe he'll get locked up this time.

I'm surprised they were able to get the convictions where the ages were closer or both were adults. Must've been strong testimony. Sad thing is if he had been a female, he'd not even rate investigation and the creep Freepers would be hi-fiving chirping 'atta-boy'.

"Husband-and-wife lawyers Araceli Ramirez and Anthony Ashe provided a space for Verse, and suffered the ire of their Bay Point community as a result:"

About the offender and his release (outrage warning):Oh, Give Me a Home

Part of the punishment for re-offenders should be to put them in the general population area of the prison.
