Common-sense conservatism does not include us worrying about the rights of terrorists.

Republicans have not lost their way, and McCain is therefore not the savior. ELECTED Republicans compromised their principles.

Thanks for posting this. We need to know that the full=court effort is on to canonize McCain. I suppose I should state myself as uncertain about him, but that wouldn't be truthful.
Still, they can say what they like and he can say what he likes, he sponsored the most successful suppresion of free speech in history and precisely aimed it at exactly the type of speech the First Amendment was actually meant to protect. He is a danger to the Republic and a menace to the populace. Vote for him at your own risk, but I simply won't.

Maybe McCain should huddle with the gang of 14 and his buddy, Rusty Feingold, to see why THEY lost their way!

"Do the right thing, and the politics will take care of itself," McCain said. A hypocritical statement in lieu of McCain's support of giving rights to terrorists.

Has he apologized for his campaign bill which abrogated freedom of speech?
Would it even matter?
NO!

Let me fix that headline:
McCain, casting himself in vein of in vain as Reagan, says GOP has lost its way
Ah, that's better.

Assign a puke alert for the headline please. John McCain comparing himself to Reagan is a slur against Reagan. Reagan, throughout his Governorship and Presidency constantly stated that the Party should have no pastel colors for the answers to the problems of the day. McCane is nothing but pastel.

Or destroying most of the 1st Amendment.
