November 20, 2006 -- Some of Rudy Giuliani's fiercest city critics are set to launch "swift boat"-type strikes to inform voters around the nation about the former mayor's behavior before 9/11, The Post has learned.

"There have already been some informal discussions by people who were very involved [in] some of the controversies during the Giuliani era," said civil-rights lawyer Norman Siegel.

Indeed, there are a number of issues that could weigh Giuliani down as he tries to move from being "America's Mayor" to America's president.

Sniff Sniff - I Smell Democrat Fear of Rudy. They know exactly what to do to scare scaredy cat Republicans away from Rudy and I predict the same thing will happen with Romney next. Look out Republicans every candidate will get Swift Boated by the Democrats and the MSM this time except maybe McCain. This is just the beginning!

Let them sift boat Rudy. He isnt getting my vote. If he is the best we can do, then the White House goes back to the Clintoons.

Swift Boating means telling the truth about a far left winger candidate that has never won a state wide election!

I too am glad they are doing this early. That way the GOP still has time to get behind a conservative candidate.

Of course I understand that your bunch thinks that a Giuliani/Chafee'08 bid will be the salvation of the republican party. We just disagree.

I noticed Norman Siegel's name pop up in the article. That's a plus for Rudy.

The Republican party will be divided in 2008. At this rate the Democrats will win easily. The Moderates and Indpendents will NOT vote for a strict conservative that easily as we see what happened in 2006.

What's with the NYT using "swiftboat" in such a derogatory fashion.

The "swiftboat vets are not evil, bad, nor did they ever do anything wrong. They simply exposed John Kerry for the fraud he is.
The NYT should commend the swift boat veterans for doing a job MSM refuses to do because of their political favortism towards the Democrat party. This bias is the reason groups like the Swift boat Veterans need to exist, otherwise the public would never know just how rotten, dishonest and corrupt some members of the democrat party are.
