Well behaved pit bulls, just like any other dog, deserve to be rescued and given a good home. Ours was attacked by another dog and left to die. When we got her, she became part of our family. My mom was terrified that we had a pit bull in our home, because of all the stories you hear. Then she met ours, and she's no longer afraid.
OK, it's actually a Jack Russell mix. (But he thinks he's a pit bull).
I understand where you are coming from, but I must say I don't think sarcasm has a place when we are talking about a breed that does actually kill people and animals on a regular basis.
The last thing I want to hear from a pit-bull owner is "salivating, rip-your-throat open" stuff, even in jest. Sorry. No one who has ever been even remotely close to one of those salivating, rip-your-throat open incidents in real life could ever see the humor in this.
In fact, it's horrible.
We just had an incident here last week where a previously well-behaved pit bull dug under one fence, ran through another property, jumped a second fence, chased two little dogs around the yard until he caught them and ripped open not only their throats, but put them in shreds. WHY?
Of course, not all pit bull owners are criminals. But all pit bulls can snap. And when they do, they are built to do maximum damage. These are the facts.
